They may be world-famous stars of the silver screen, but apparently, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz raved about the rigatoni al pomodoro with mozzarella served to them by ‘cashmere mogul’ Brunello Cucinelli.

The two actresses visited the luxury fashion entrepreneur in the village of Solomeo, where his company headquarters is located.

"Esteemed guests who honoured us with their visit," wrote an ecstatic Cucinelli on his Instagram profile.

The designer shared a photo arm in arm with the esteemed guests, artisan shelving filled with books providing an elegant background for the shot.

"I was deeply touched by their down to earth humanity and friendliness," Cucinelli stressed in his Instagram caption, referring to Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and the other guests present.

“It was a real pleasure for me to be able to talk to such special people about the great value of humanity, and how we can try to navigate that sickness of the soul present in every one of us, since time began, in the human beings of every age. Thank you, also, for reminding us of your love for our villages and beautiful Umbria, with infinite gratitude, Brunello.”

For readers eager to try the pasta that made such an impression on the A-listers, there’s a recipe on Cucinelli’s website for a similar dish, the copy of which reads: “a few simple ingredients are enough to create unforgettable flavours.”
