World champion Max Verstappen continued his domination of the Formula One season with victory at the home of his Red Bull team, moving him ahead of Ayrton Senna in the all-time winners’ list.
“We made the most of what we have on Friday (in practice) and today,” Leclerc said.
“I’m happy about making the podium; the upgrades to the car make me feel more at ease.
“The team did an exceptional job to bring forward the upgrades.
“Naturally, we still have work to do but I’m happy about the podium”.
The 25-year-old Monégasque racing driver said he is already setting his sights on the next race, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
“Silverstone and Austria are two tracks that can give us good results,” he said.
“Let’s hope we can take advantage of the upgrades to the car and we’ll be sure to have fun”.
Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez came third to complete the podium, while Leclerc’s Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz’s came fourth.
Leclerc is sixth in the drivers’ standings with 72 points, two behind Sainz in fifth.
Verstappen leads with 229 points.
