More than 850 people participated in the successful evening, dancing the night away to the rhythm of the “Cabana” and “Perez” orchestras.
Following an exquisite dinner provided by the Italia Catering Service, 15 candidates for the titles of “Miss Abruzzo 1969” and “Miss Abruzzo Charity Queen 1969” were selected from among the beautiful girls in the room.
The candidates are: Beniamina Marinelli, Maria Pietrocola, Anna Ianessi, Maria Guadagnulo, Lucia Di Iulio, Maria Di Iulio, Anna Colassante, Giuliana Calvi, Wenda Duncan, Licia Sanelli, Grazia Martino, Linda Lago, Marina Di Fulvio, Anna Sanelli and Francesca Interlandi.
The winners of the titles will be chosen during another dinner-dance hosted by the Abruzzo Club in the coming months.
Before the evening came to an end a lottery was drawn, with many great prizes up for grabs including: a return trip to Sydney for two, donated by Mr A. Musolino of Italia Viaggi; an alarm clock from Sulmona Furnishing; wines from Ferdi’s Bistro; an espresso coffee maker and two packets of coffee from Coffex; a punch bowl from Incani Hardware; a lamp from Home Furnishing; and a keg of brandy from Marinelli.
It was a brilliant and successful evening, and the organisers deserve to be acknowledged for putting together the event down to the finest detail.
