The number of people arrested for football violence rose from 59 in 2021-2022 to 125 in the 2022-23 season, said the new report from the National Observatory on Sporting Events.
A total of 2662 matches (381 in Serie A) were taken into consideration.
Some 233,999 police were deployed (up from 175,296 in the 2021-22 season).
There were 113 injuries among civilians, up from 66 during the previous season.
There were 147 injuries among the police force, up from 72 in 2021-22.
There were some 2011 ultras cited, up from 1480, and 125 arrested, up from 59.
Also monitored, for the first time in this edition of the report, were acts of racial, territorial and anti-Semitic discrimination.
There were 126 of these.
