During a ceremony held in the Jade Room at the Marconi clubrooms in Bossley Park attended by numerous coaches and youth players from the Stallions, Carniato expressed his pride in welcoming Carle, a former Australian international who is synonymous with youth football development.
Nicholas Alberto Carle, born on November 23, 1981, is a former midfielder who played for Sydney Olympic, Troyes, Marconi Stallions, Newcastle Jets, Gençlerbirliği, Bristol City, Crystal Palace, Baniyas and Sydney FC.
Born in Sydney to Uruguayan and Chilean parents, Carle won five national futsal titles as a junior. During his teenage years, he played football for his high school, Patrician Brothers’ College in Fairfield.
Carle played for Marconi from 2003 to 2005, scoring six goals. Between 2004 and 2012, he earned 13 caps for the Socceroos. In the 2006-2007 season, while playing for the Newcastle Jets, he won the Johnny Warren Medal (the league’s MVP) and was also awarded Goal of the Year.
Carle is an experienced figure who promises to bring fresh energy to the Stallions’ youth development program. With a solid background in nurturing young talent and a modern vision for the game, the new technical director aims to introduce innovative methods and a strong focus on the individual growth of each player.
The goal is clear: to establish a cohesive and ambitious technical pathway that will enable the club’s youth teams to make a significant leap forward. The club is placing great trust in this new era under Carle’s leadership.
