Kamaldeen Sulemana gave the visitors the lead in the 26th minute with a first-time finish into the bottom-right corner after the ball fell to him in the box.
Frosinone thought they had equalised just before the break, but Enzo Barrenchea’s goal was ruled out due to a foul.
The home side finally got on the scoresheet in the 64th minute when Luca Mazzitelli headed in Abdou Harroui’s cross, leaving Cagliari keeper Simone Scuffet rooted to the spot.
Frosinone took the lead in the 75th minute through a Matias Soule freekick.
Kaio Jorge made sure of the points in added time with a tap in provided by Nadir Zortea.
The win gives Frosinone a five-point buffer between them and the relegation zone, while Cagliari are only safe by a point.
