Girl gives up Communion cash to fund gelati shop
A 10-year-old Italian girl has given up her First Holy Communion gifts and cash to fund a social collective that runs a Lecce artisanal gelateria staffed by young people with Down’s Syndrome, Italian media reported Thursday.

The gelateria also offers free gelati to the needy.
The Lecce girl, Carolina, said she was happy to be contributing to the collective with its flavours described as “social redemption and happiness”.
She has diverted all her Communion money to the charitable foundation which operates in the historic centre of the Puglia city, Defriscu.
