Griffon vultures booming in Sardinia
Sardinia’s population of rare Griffon vultures is booming, with an 11.8 per cent increase in the number of the birds last year, the LIFE Safe for Vultures project said Wednesday.

The majority of the species is concentrated in the wild northwest of the island, the project said.
The stocks now range from 332 to 378 individuals.
LIFE Safe for Vultures aims to ensure that Griffon vultures regain their historical distribution areas in Sardinia and promote the island’s long-term survival.
