The earthquake claimed almost 300 lives and left thousands homeless, forced to relocate to safer areas.
The wooden buildings, which range from 40 to 70 square metres in size, will serve as temporary accommodation for Amatrice residents while reconstruction work continues on homes damaged by the quake.
Several disgruntled Amatrice residents interrupted Wednesday’s inauguration ceremony, protesting over delays in the government’s response to the disaster.
"We're tired, it's taken seven months to deliver these houses, which aren't houses," local woman Rita D'Annibale said.
"No one listens to the citizens. I'm more than angry. It's taken seven months to get 25 little houses, which are actually containers disguised as houses."
A total of 499 temporary homes, or casette, have been requested in Amatrice, and construction has commenced on the first 304.
