From the first whistle, Inter were a model of precision and nerve, turning the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza into a theatre of dominance.
The Nerazzurri broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when Alessandro Bastoni rose highest from a corner to head home, setting the tone for a one-sided contest.
Torino barely had time to recover when Marcus Thuram doubled the lead just before halftime, converting with composure from a tight angle to extend Inter’s advantage.

Torino’s resistance evaporated in the second half. Seven minutes after the restart, Lautaro Martínez punished a poor attempt to play out from the back to put the result beyond doubt.
Thuram, proving a handful throughout, grabbed his brace shortly after the hour mark with a towering header, continuing his lethal run in front of goal. And in a storybook moment late in the match, new signing Ange‑Yoan Bonny capped the rout with a debut goal - caused by another failed attempt from Torino at playing out from the back - that further underscored Inter’s commanding performance.
Following the match, midfielder Petar Sučić, who made a dynamic full debut for the club, said he “couldn’t wait to play in this shirt”, reflecting the enthusiasm rippling through the Nerazzurri as they kicked off the new season.
For Torino, the result was “painful”, as coach Marco Baroni admitted, stressing the need for a rapid turnaround.
