Catalini was one of the many people who on June 2 visited Il Globo’s booth at the Calabria Club in Bulla for the big Festa della Repubblica celebration to try their luck in the “Guess and Win” contest.
The game involved guessing how many pieces of pasta was in the large glass container brought to the Festival. Up for grabs was a free twelve-month subscription to Il Globo TV, the streaming platform with access to live Italian channels such as RAI, LA7, Mediaset and TGCOM24 as well as TV programs, series, movies, documentaries, children’s cartoons and Serie A and Serie B football.
Originally from Naples, Catalini has a master’s degree in teaching and arrived in Australia nine years ago with the man who is now her husband.
After spending the first two years in different cities around the country, the two chose to settle in Melbourne where Catalini began working as an Italian language teacher.
For the past few years, Catalini has been working with an NDIS provider that manages government funds allocated to services for people with disabilities and the elderly.
“I’m very happy, integrating Il Globo TV into the family routine will be very interesting and I can’t wait to go home and use it,” said Catalini.
“I have a four-year-old daughter; she was born here and started going to kindergarten at just over a year old. Even though my husband and I speak Italian at home, she speaks mostly in English.
“Surely Il Globo TV’s children’s content will be a help in teaching my little one Italian, as well as offering my husband and me the possibility of feeling a little closer to home.
“[We’ll now be able] to watch all those channels and TV programs that we used to watch in Italy.”
