It was defending-champions Napoli’s fourth home defeat of the season.

The home team had 57 per cent possession and created ten shots on goal to Inter’s nine.

Hakan Calhanoglu scored with a powerful long-range half volley in the 44th minute to give Inter the lead at the break.

Nicolo Barella slalomed through Napoli’s defence midway through the second half before finishing from close range.

Marcus Thuram tapped in a late third to seal victory after a low ball was whipped in by Juan Cuadrado.

Inter are two points ahead of Juventus while Napoli are fifth.
