Despite having just 40 per cent of the ball, La Viola created 13 chances to Inter’s seven.

But the visitors got off to a flying start, scoring in under a minute as Francesco Pio Esposito headed Nicolo Barella’s cross into the far post.

Fiorentina hung in there and eventually got their equaliser in the 77th minute through Cher Ndour, who tapped into an empty net after Inter keeper Yann Sommer parried directly into his path.

Fiorentina currently sit in 16th place, two points above the drop. Inter are six and seven points above AC Milan and Napoli respectively.
