The Norwegian underdogs produced a disciplined, dynamic display to cap a historic double over one of the continent’s heavyweights, marking the biggest upset of the Champions League knockout play-offs this season.

The atmosphere was electric in Milan as Inter, who lost 3–1 in the first leg in Norway, chased a comeback, but neither side was able to find the back of the net in the first half.

With their compact defensive shape and incisive transitions, the Norwegians went bang-bang in the second half.

In the 58th minute, Jens Petter Hauge made it 1-0 on the night thanks to an absolute howler in defence by Manuel Akanji. Ten minutes later, Akanji went close to making up for his error, but his shot hit the post.

In the 72nd minute, Håkon Evjen put the result beyond doubt by lashing home a second for the visitors after an excellent first touch under pressure.

Inter pulled one back four minutes later through Alessandro Bastoni’s weak effort that somehow crossed the line.

Despite late pressure from Inter, Bodø/Glimt held firm to see out the victory, sealing one of the most remarkable achievements by a Norwegian club in European football.

Norwegian media and pundits are already hailing the result as one of the greatest accomplishments in the country’s club football history.

For Inter, the defeat will now allow them to focus completely on Serie A, where they are clear favourites to win the title.
