In a tight, tactical battle where chances were scarce for much of the game, Inter showed greater quality when it mattered most with a stunning free-kick and a late finish sealing all three points on German soil.

The match began in cagey fashion, with both sides cautious in possession and preventing clear openings.

Dortmund, missing several key players through injury, defended resolutely and frustrated Inter’s attempts to build chances.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 81st minute. Federico Dimarco bent a spectacular free kick around the wall and into the top corner, leaving the Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel with little chance. It was a moment of individual brilliance that ultimately decided a tight encounter.

With Dortmund pushing forward in search of an equaliser, Inter capitalised once more in stoppage time. A late attack ended with Andy Diouf’s shot receiving a helpful deflection to make it 2–0 and cement the win.

Despite the victory, Inter finished tenth on the table, meaning they’ll head to the playoffs for teams placed 9th-24th.
