In a match that showcased both tactical rotation and crucial individual moments, the Nerazzurri ultimately prevailed thanks to goals from Ange-Yoan Bonny and Andy Diouf, with Torino’s Sandro Kulenović pulling one back but unable to force extra drama.
Torino started brightly and defended compactly in the opening stages, looking to frustrate an Inter side that featured several changes as manager Cristian Chivu balanced cup ambitions with a demanding league and European schedule.
But the deadlock was broken in the 35th minute when a fine attacking move down the right saw Issiaka Kamate pick out Bonny, who directed a precise header into the net to give Inter the lead.
In the 47th minute, another incisive attack culminated in Andy Diouf tapping in from close range after a clever cut-back from Marcus Thuram, extending Inter’s lead as the game settled into a physical midfield battle.

Torino refused to lie down. In the 57th minute, Sandro Kulenović capitalised on space in the box to finish clinically with his head and halve the deficit, setting up a tense final half-hour.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser, but Inter’s defence held firm and a late Torino effort was ruled out for offside, preserving the 2–1 scoreline.
The win sees Inter through to the Coppa Italia semifinals, where they will face either Napoli or Como for a place in the final.
