The nerazzuri started the match in second place after Juventus’ win over Napoli.

Inter took the lead in the 37th minute when Hakal Calhanoglu converted a penalty awarded for a pull on the shirt of Lauturo Martinez.

Federico Dimarco made it 2-0 just five minutes later when his low shot from an angle went into the far post.

Marcus Thuram had all but sealed the points for Inter in the 44th minute with a tap in after an curling ball into the box by Henrikh Mkhitaryan wasn’t delt with.

With six minutes remaining, Martinez put the icing on the cake for Inter when he forced a turnover in the centre circle before driving forward and shooting from outside the box, beating a diving Marco Silvestri.

Inter are two points above second-placed Juventus, while Udinese are just one points above the drop zone.
