Sculpture by the Sea opened on October 24 and will run until November 10.
Perron’s wooden sculpture Filtro (Filter) is on display in the unique exhibition.
The smooth pine sculpture stands at two metres tall, and is positioned against the aquamarine waters of Sydney’s east coast as the winds pass through its elegant curves and spaces.
Born in Turin in 1977, Perron began studying art at just eight years old, with sculptor Franco Alessandria.
At 11 years old, he attended courses held by Guido Ronchail.
Perron currently resides in Jouvenceaux, near Turin, and is principal and teacher at the local sculpture school.
Since 2003, Perron has been artistic director of the international sculpture symposium, Art in the Forest, and since 2004, he has been artistic director of the Art in the Snow symposium.
He has also been a member of the International Association of Monumental Sculpture Events since 2005, and in 2006, he was the leading creator of the Snow Show at the 20th Turin Winter Olympic Games.
Since 1987, Perron has participated in more than 100 international sculpture symposiums across 15 countries and four continents.
During his stay in Sydney, Perron will be hosting a number of sculpting workshops at primary and high schools across NSW.
The 23rd annual exhibition of Sculpture by the Sea in Bondi runs until November 10.
