The two teams have not met since 2006, when the South African Rhinos left their shores for a two test tour in Italy.

South Africa beat the Azzurri in both games that year, but since then the rugby league world stage has experienced some major changes.

Italy took part in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup and will be looking to qualify for the 2021 instalment.

South Africa, on the other hand, has not qualified for the World Cup since 2000.

They will be putting their all into qualifying for the 2021 World Cup.

Both teams will draw on local and international players for the clash, with the Italian team consisting of talent from Italy and Australia.

The match will be played under Rugby League International Federation Rules.

The test will be an opportunity for both teams to develop their players for their respective World Cup campaigns.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm and the match will also be live-streamed, with the link being posted on the South African Rugby League and Italian Rugby League Facebook pages.
