The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, when Antonio Rizzuto slipped over the fence on a cliff top and fell around 20 metres, bouncing from rock to rock, until he landed on a wide ledge.
He was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and underwent an operation that lasted over two hours.
The boy was then declared to be in a serious but stable condition.
The staff at the hospital where Antonio was treated were amazed that he survived such a dangerous fall, especially considering he was in a coma for over two hours after it.
