The concert was promoted by the CIC under the auspices of the Italian Consulate and the Italian Cultural Institute.

Conducted by Maestro Enzo Marcianò, it will feature classics from the likes of Rossini, Puccini and Verdi.

The stars to grace the stage are: soprano Margareth Haggart; contralto Valmai Rowed; tenors Jim Tullio and Luigi Zazatteri; and baritone Shane Chekian.

The operatic performance will be followed by a pop concert organised by Rolando Di Bari.

The concert will feature singers: Jo Muhrer, winner of the 1967 Italian Song Festival, held in Melbourne; Sandro and Cesare Moreno, winners of 1968 edition; Rossana Chirumbolo, who came in second place in 1968; Anna Maria Manna; Bruno Matricciani; and Vittorio Sacca.

The concert was funded by the CIC, as well as Italian institutions and businesses.

It is a free event and all members of the community are welcome.
