He was greeted by Consul General Mario Ferrari Di Carpi and other members of the Italian community in Melbourne.

During the evening, Bemporad attended a dance organised in his honour, held at the Broadmeadows Town Hall.

Around 700 people participated in the event.

On Monday, the Italian politician presided over the inauguration of the new headquarters of CO.AS.IT.

On Tuesday, Bemporad will meet with presidents of various Italian associations and clubs in Melbourne at a symposium that will take place at the headquarters of Fogolar Furlan.

Bemporad will depart for South Australia at 4:00 pm.
