The concert featuring many of Italy’s biggest stars including Negramaro, Andrea Bocelli, Max Pezzali, Emma, Elodie, Giorgia, Elisa, Madame, Tananai and Fiorella Mannoia, among others, drew a crowd of over 40,000 to Reggio Emilia with ticket sales bringing in over 1.8 million euros.
“Unity brings strength, Italia Loves Romagna was a success beyond all expectations and is a virtuous model, which should certainly be repeated,” Mazzi said after the show featuring 18 major Italian artists scored a TV audience share of over 30 per cent and total proceeds were put at over 2.5 million euros.
The share peaked at almost 34 per cent when the trio of Gianni Morandi, Elodie and Mannoia sang Lucio Dalla’s Vita.
The floods killed 15 people and cause billions of euros in damage to property, crops and infrastructure in Emilia-Romagna, most of it in the more northern part of the region, Romagna.
