Her comments came after NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg reportedly told The Economist Kyiv’s allies should consider allowing it.
“We must be very prudent,” Meloni said.
“NATO must not give off the signal that it is giving in.
“But there have been many questionable statements. I advise more prudence”.
Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said Stoltenberg should “apologise, rectify or resign”.
“He cannot speak for us,” added the League leader.
