Due to the war in Gaza, the match was played at the Bozsik Arena in Slovakia.

Possession was even, but the Azzurri created 12 chances to Israel’s four.

Italy took the lead in the 38th minute when Davide Frattesi chested Federico Dimarco’s powerful cross into the far post.

Moise Kean made it 2-0 in the 62nd when Israel goalkeeper Yoav Gerafi parried Giacomi Raspadori’s shot right into his path. Kean’s follow-up shot went through Gerafi’s legs.

Thirteen minutes later, Sandro Tonali had a goal ruled out by VAR for offside.

Israel scored a 90th minute goal to make added time interesting thanks to Mohammad Abu Fani’s volley into the far post which resulted from a set piece.

The win puts the Azzurri top of the League A Group 2 table with six points, ahead of France and Belgium on three points each and Israel with zero.
