Rossella Fanelli and Eleonora Catalano, who make up the duo Jazz Amore, will delight the audience with their iconic style of acoustic music.

The duo founded Jazz Amore in 2018 and have since performed at over 260 concerts across New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

Their repertoire spans several generations of Italian music, from the 1950s to the 1990s, helping to preserve Italy’s signature musical style in new and modern ways.

Fanelli and Catalano have performed at events for Bulgari, Campari, SBS Italian, Doltone House and some of the best Italian restaurants in Sydney.

“The director of the IIC reached out to us in the hope that we could honour Conte’s and Daniele’s legacies,” Rossella explained.

“They were some of Italy’s best songwriters and artists.

“Eleonora and I have adapted their work to suit our style as an acoustic duo and we look forward to telling their stories tomorrow evening.”

Conte, a singer, composer, musician and Italian painter, had a rich and resonant voice.

A trained jazz pianist, Conte was considered one of the most innovative Italian singers.

Though he enjoyed international success for his music, he continued to pursue his career in law.

His compositions were full of Italian sounds, Mediterranean jazz, elements of French songs and Latin-American rhythms.

Daniele, a singer, guitarist and composer, was renowned for his blues music.

Throughout the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, he was regarded as one of the most groundbreaking Italian musicians.

During his 40-year career, he collaborated with many other prestigious artists, including: Franco Battiato, Francesco De Gregori, Lucio Dalla, Pat Metheny, Eric Clapton, Chick Corea and Joe Bonamassa.

Jazz Amore’s concert at the IIC will commence at 6:00 pm tomorrow evening, with drinks and refreshments served beforehand.
