Mr Grancini, a 44-year-old factory worker, was found by Italian police at his home in Cernusco sul Naviglio, near Milan.
The attempted homicide took place in Milan’s Piazza Morbegno on October 5, 2006, outside the Los Hermanos bar, when he and a friend tried to shoot dead their acquaintance Massimo Merafino.
Mr Grancini was later accused of stabbing Mr Merafino’s friend, Antonio Genova, in the calf to scare him away from testifying.
The bar where the attack occurred is frequented by Juventus fans.
Mr Grancini is also accused of threatening the head of a Milanese ticketing agency to give them tickets for Juventus games.
