The home team had 46 per cent of the ball and created three chances all game, only one of which was on target. Ascoli created seven with three on target.

Pisa went ahead in under 12 minutes thanks to Pietro Beruatto’s acrobatic volley from just outside the box.

It wasn’t until the 85th minute that Bari would have their equaliser. Akpa Chukwu Hemsley finished off some brilliant work out wide by Mehdi Dorval who did well not to lose the ball before getting his cross away.

Pisa’s Adam Nagy received a second yellow in the 89th minute and will miss the next match.
