Despite falling behind midway through the second half, Milan salvaged a point deep into stoppage time thanks to Christopher Nkunku’s late strike.

The first half at the Stadio Artemio Franchi was tense but goalless, with Milan controlling possession and creating openings without finding the breakthrough.

Christian Pulisic and Niclas Fullkrug combined well in attack, but Fiorentina goalkeeper David de Gea and a stubborn back line kept the Rossoneri at bay.

Milan’s slightly rotated lineup—with big names like Rafael Leão and Luka Modrić starting on the bench—showed intent but lacked the clinical edge to score before halftime.

After the break, Fiorentina grew into the game. The hosts struck in the 66th minute when Pietro Comuzzo rose unmarked from a corner and nodded past Mike Maignan, giving Fiorentina a deserved lead.

Comuzzo’s goal looked set to be decisive as Fiorentina defended resolutely and threatened on the break, but Milan refused to relent.

With time ticking away, Massimiliano Allegri’s substitutions paid off as fresh legs helped restore momentum.

Deep in stoppage time, Christopher Nkunku timed his run perfectly to meet Youssouf Fofana’s delivery and fire home from a wide angle, earning Milan a dramatic 1–1 draw.

The draw keeps Milan second in the Serie A table, three points behind leaders Inter Milan, and preserves their strong unbeaten run, while Fiorentina remain stuck in the relegation zone, still searching for a win that could kick-start their season.
