Cremonese came out firing and stunned the visitors inside the opening minutes. Just four minutes in, Jamie Vardy seized on slack defending from Cagliari before finding Dennis Johnsen, who finished from close range.

In the 29th minute, Vardy showed his predatory instincts, steering home a well-placed finish from close range after a neat build-up to double the lead.

After the break, Cagliari halved the deficit in the 51st minute thanks to Michel Adopo’s powerful run and a clinical finish from the edge of the box.

Cagliari, intent on ending the match on a high, pressed forward with renewed urgency as the match progressed.

Their persistence paid off late on. In the 88th minute, Yaël Trepy had the quality to control Luca Mazzitelli’s long ball under pressure, take a second touch with his knee and volley it past Emil Audero—all without the ball hitting the ground.

Despite frantic late efforts from both sides, neither could find a late winner and the match finished honours even at 2–2.

Cremonese currently sit 13th on the Serie A table with 22 points, while Cagliari are one place behind with 19.
