It took Atalanta just four minutes to score an equaliser as Mario Pasalic pounced on the rebound when Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel parried Lazar Samardzic’s shot directly into his path.
The Romans thought they had scored the winner in the 87th minute when Boulaye Dia picked Pasalic’s pocket in the box before finishing from close range, but Atalanta would have the last say.
In the 90th minute, American Yunus Musah’s half volley from inside the box ensured the scores were level heading into the second leg in Bergamo on April 23 (AEST).
