A first-half strike from Gustav Isaksen proved decisive as the Biancocelesti held firm against sustained Milan pressure to secure all three points.

The match began at a high tempo, with Lazio showing early intent and pressing Milan aggressively across the pitch. Their positive start paid off in the 26th minute, when Isaksen was put through on goal with a long ball before finishing clinically to beat Mike Maignan and give the hosts the lead.

Milan responded by taking control of possession and pushing forward in search of an equaliser. The visitors created several opportunities through Rafael Leão, Christian Pulisic and Niclas Füllkrug, but Lazio’s defence remained compact and disciplined.

Despite Milan registering more shots and dominating territory, clear chances were limited.

After the break, Milan intensified their attack. Manager Massimiliano Allegri introduced fresh legs in an attempt to break down Lazio’s defence, while Luka Modrić helped dictate play in midfield during the closing stages. However, Lazio goalkeeper Edoardo Motta and his back line held firm under pressure.

The Rossoneri thought they had found a breakthrough late on, but the effort was ruled out for handball after a VAR review. As frustration grew, Milan were unable to convert their dominance into goals, and Lazio saw out the match to secure a valuable victory.

Milan’s defeat represents a missed opportunity to claw Inter back to just a five-point lead.
