Cagliari had 59 per cent possession with both sides creating ten chances, only two each on target, however.
Valentin Gendrey put the hosts ahead just after the half hour mark when he headed in a corner swung in by Remi Oudin.
Gaetano Oristanio equalised for the Sardinians in the 68th minute after he lunged to get a foot on a free kick whipped into the box with pace by Nicolas Viola. The ball looked to have initially been saved by Wladimiro Falcone, but goal line technology intervened to award the goal.
The point leaves Lecce 13th on the table with 21 points while Cagliari are 17th with 15.
