Skirmantas Strimaitis, who was flying from the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius to the northern Italian city of Bergamo for a skiing holiday on March 16, had the entire plane – which seats up to 188 people – all to himself.

It was just him, two pilots and five crew members.

No screaming babies, no intrusive neighbours and no squishy seating.

The Novaturas travel agency said that it had chartered the plane to fly passengers home from Italy and that to avoid flying back to Italy empty, one-way tickets were sold at the last minute.

Strimaitis was the only person who bought one.

The lone passenger shared selfies from his spacious flight, which he described as a “a once-in-a-lifetime experience”.
