Lecce went close to equalising in the 73rd minute, but Santiago Pierotti’s header was cleared off the line by Hermoso.
Roma sit in sixth place, three points behind Como in fourth. Lecce are in the relegation zone, but only one win separates them from Cagliari in 15th.
