Volpe expressed “the sincerest appreciation, personally and on behalf of the entire organisation, for the outstanding contribution made by Marco Fedi”, before highlighting how his leadership strengthened CO.AS.IT.’s growth and stability.
“The results achieved under his guidance represent a significant and lasting legacy for the community we serve,” he added.
In his farewell message, Fedi reflected on his eight years at the helm of the organisation, describing them as “intense and complex”, marked by profound transformation and challenges faced with “responsibility, vision and courage”.
“CO.AS.IT. has continued to be an essential point of reference for the Italian-Australian community, renewing its role without losing its soul,” said Fedi.
Among the key achievements of his tenure, Fedi highlighted the strengthening of services for older Australians, investments in staff training and the development of innovative programs such as C.U.T.E. alongside pilot initiatives including the WitCare Hub.
He also pointed to the promotion of Italian language and culture through events such as the Festa Italiana at the Royal Exhibition Building and Zecchino d’Oro, as well as the establishment of the new library in partnership with La Feltrinelli and the ongoing work of the Italian Museum.
“Nothing that has been achieved would have been possible without the commitment and strong sense of community shown by my colleagues,” Fedi concluded.
“I leave with gratitude and confidence.”
CO.AS.IT. will provide further updates in due course regarding interim management arrangements and future leadership structures.
