Monaco’s Christian Mawissa was shown a straight red card in the 12th minute when he, as the last man, brought down Thuram who was running through on goal.
Things went from bad to worse for the visitors four minutes later as Martinez score Inter’s second goal after Nicola Barella teed up a shot for him inside the box.
Martinez had his hattrick in the 67th minute when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s shot was parried directly into his path for an easy finish.
Inter can now enjoy a break as the playoffs, between ninth and 24th, take place.
