The honour is part of NSW Women’s Week, an initiative that promotes women’s empowerment and gender equality across the state.

Bonfante was nominated by Drummoyne MP Stephanie Di Pasqua for her fundraising work in support of the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, helping raise funds for cancer research and patient care.

A cancer survivor, mother and grandmother, Bonfante turned her personal experience into a commitment to help others.

She organised three major charity gala dinners to support the cause, the most recent held last May at Aqua Luna in Drummoyne.

During the NSW Women of the Year Awards ceremony at the International Convention Centre Sydney, Bonfante was recognised as a role model for the community.

Bonfante said she felt deeply honoured to receive the award and noted that the results achieved were made possible thanks to the support of her family and the team working alongside her.

Together, they have raised more than $200,000 to support these initiatives.
