Rome's prefect has banned sales of tickets for the match to residents of the Netherlands and closed the away-fans section.

But there are fears many Feyenoord supporters may come to Rome anyway and wreak havoc.

A similar ban did not stop fans of German side Eintracht Frankfurt causing trouble in Naples around a Champions League match against Napoli last month.

Feyenoord fans went on the rampage in the capital before a match against Roma in February 2015, vandalising the iconic Barcaccia Fountain near the Spanish Steps.

Giannini said that he was not “worried”, adding that he was in continuous contact with the Dutch authorities and hoteliers’ association Federalberghi to monitor arrivals from the Netherlands.
