Both sides traded blows in a high-intensity encounter that saw Napoli twice come from behind to snatch a valuable point on the road.
Inter struck early to set the tone, capitalising on a Napoli turnover in midfield in the 9th minute. Marcus Thuram drove forward and set up Federico Dimarco, who drove a low shot into the far corner to give the Nerazzurri a deserved lead after a bright opening spell.
Inter’s early momentum suggested they might run away with the game, but Napoli responded with composure.
The away side worked their way back into the match and levelled in the 26th minute when Scott McTominay met a low cross from Eljif Elmas at the near post, out-muscling his marker and firing past Yann Sommer to make it 1–1. The leveller gave Napoli confidence and rattled a Milan side unused to trailing at home.
The momentum swung again after the break. A contentious moment arrived when Napoli coach Antonio Conte was sent off for his reaction to a decision.
Inter were then awarded a penalty for a foul on Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Çalhanoğlu coolly dispatched from the spot to restore the hosts’ advantage late in the second half.

Yet Napoli refused to wilt. With 81 minutes on the clock, McTominay struck again, this time with a superb volley from the edge of the six-yard box after Noa Lang’s flicked pass found him in space.
Inter nearly regained victory in stoppage time when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s deflected effort rattled the post, but the score remained deadlocked.
The draw leaves Inter top of the Serie A table, three points clear of AC Milan and four ahead of Napoli, who showed resilience and character to snatch a point in a pulsating contest.
