The rumoured deal would be for Italy to use SpaceX’s Starlink satellites for Italian government telecoms.
Meloni, through her office, has already emphatically denied the rumours.
Ciriani said there was nothing further to say on the matter.
The opposition has called on Meloni to report on the alleged deal saying national security could be at risk.
“There is nothing to report to Parliament,” Ciriani said.
“The prime minister is not running away from Parliament, she is not a person used to running away from anything, there is simply nothing to report.”
