The two workers were unharmed in the accident, but had been treated for shock before being released.
The two train drivers who were on the train involved in the accident were also discharged.
The accident happened when a speeding out-of-service train slammed into a group of workers doing nighttime track maintenance in the northern Italy town.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight and Brandizzo Mayor Paolo Bodoni reportedly told Turin news outlet La Stampa that there were indications that the crew of the train was unaware there were workers on the tracks.
The Milan-Turin rail line reopened on Thursday afternoon, 18 hours after the accident, while the line on the Chivasso-Settimo Torinese section was reopened following clearance from the judicial authorities.
Circulation is gradually resuming.
The train involved in the accident has been moved but remains at the disposal of investigators.
