The animal has chosen the basin off the famed basilica, and he doesn’t want to leave.
Mimmo on Sunday returned to swim in perhaps the world’s most famous body of water.
Just hours after being escorted out of the area on Saturday, using a special sonar device, the cetacean dodged the Port Authority officials who had coordinated the operation and reappeared in the basin, much to the delight of tourists.
Initially, when the dolphin was “guided” by boats into deeper waters, it was thought he had permanently ventured out to sea.
However, as soon as the “escort” returned to base, he made an about-face, once again choosing what he has decided is his natural habitat.
