“Enough of the false myths about pasta; it’s not true you can’t eat it in the evening, and why should you ever deprive yourself of a nice carbonara? It stimulates the thyroid gland and also boosts your mood,” endocrinologist and nutritionist Serena Missori said on Wednesday.
To celebrate World Pasta Day, Barilla on Wednesday awarded the creators of “the pasta of the future”, determined by a competition involving 680 designers from 124 countries.
Though Italy was the place to be on pasta day, with free tasting all over the Belpaese, the iconic dish of the Mediterranean diet was also celebrated across social media platforms worldwide with the hashtags #WorldPastaDay and #Spaghetti.
World Pasta Day was established as part of the World Pasta Congress on October 25, 1995.
Experts from all over the world united to celebrate the delicious Italian icon, with particular emphasis on spreading knowledge of pasta across the globe.
World Pasta Day now serves as a day to promote pasta and its cultural and culinary significance.
