The festa is a special family and community day for people of all backgrounds, held in the heart of Sydney’s Little Italy.
Italians have been known to say: “There are two kinds of people in the world – Italians and those that wish they were!”
Both will be at the festa.
From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Norton Street will be completely transformed, with stalls offering a variety of traditional and contemporary food, with opportunity for families and friends to lunch at the tables available for public use.
Activities for the younger ones will be held in Pioneers Park, including pony rides and Auto Festa, an amazing collection of Italians cars on display, including brands such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
Leichhardt Market Place will host a series of cooking demonstrations by notable chefs, including the duo The Italianos and Paolo Gatto.
Along the Norton Street stages innumerable actors, dancers and singers will perform.
Visitors should make sure not to miss Bendigo Bank’s Communi-Tree, where members of the public will be invited to vote on proposed community projects.
Children are invited to bring along their grandparents in celebration of NSW Grandparents Day, which falls on the very same day.
