Running from May 4-9, Milano Food City is a legacy of the 2015 Milan Expo that aims to promote the Milan Charter on sustainable food.
The week-long occasion features myriad events held throughout the northern city, from cooking demonstrations to food tastings, each promoting healthy eating, social inclusion and sustainability.
Obama is scheduled to present a speech on food, climate change and sustainability in a summit on innovation, and will be joined by his close friend, Sam Kass, who was the Obama family’s personal chef from 2009 to 2014.
The former US president’s return to the international stage follows a well-deserved holiday with Michelle which took him to the British Virgin Islands, where he was snapped kitesurfing with Sir Richard Branson, and French Polynesia.
