The home side had 60 per cent possession and created eight chances to Monza’s five.
The visitors went ahead in the 18th minute thanks to Dany Mota’s close-range finish past the oncoming Stefano Turati.
Mota turned provider for Valentin Carboni who doubled Monza’s lead just before half time with another one-on-one finish past Turati in the box.
Ten minutes after the break, things went from bad to worse for Frosinone as Matias Soule scored an own goal when he slid to intercept a pass, but instead sent it in the direction of the goal. Turati was wrongfooted and couldn’t readjust in time.
Abdou Harroui got one back for the home team just a minute later with a powerful shot from a tight angle.
Soule, looking to redeem himself, made it 3-2 from the spot after a foul on Giuseppe Caso who was through on goal.
The win leaves Monza 11th on the table while Frosinone are 15th.
