Parma went ahead almost immediately as they were awarded a penalty for a clumsy challenge on Anthony Partipilo by Cittadella keeper Elhan Kastrati.

Adrian Benedyczak stepped up to the spot and went bottom left, sending the keeper the wrong way.

After scoring in the second minute of the game, Parma went 2-0 in the second minute of the second half when Adrian Bernabe met a Tjas Begic cutback in the box and finished tidily.
