“This is no longer the opposition’s minimum-wage proposal because the ruling majority has emptied the proposal of all significance with its usual arrogance,” Schlein said.
“We take our signatures off the pull. The workers’ expectations will not be betrayed in our name.”
Nicola Fratoianni of the Green Left Alliance (AVS) said his group was following suit.
“We do not intend to put our names and our faces to an indecent act of political and institutional piracy,” Fratoianni said.
“Transforming an opposition bill into a government enabling act it is a slap in the face of parliament.”
