The pontiff reassured the children’s parents, telling them to “let them cry!” if the kids burst into tears.
He also told mothers to have no hesitation to feed the children if they got hungry.
The pope said the children should be taken as examples of faith to adults.
“May they show us how to receive our faith: with innocence and with open hearts,” he said before baptising each child one by one.
